Dream. Plan. Do.
With just a few months left in the year, most of us are thinking ahead to how we will finish the year. Along with that comes the promise of the new year and how we will grow personally and professionally. There is a lot of talk about visioning, goal setting, and productivity as we decide whether to sprint towards the finish line with a project or take a more measured approach and save it for the first quarter of 2022.
As you evaluate the progress you made in 2021, do you see any areas where you are “stuck?” If you look at the Dream. Plan. Do. model, it’s common for people to get stuck in one phase or another. Unfortunately, all three steps are necessary to complete just about anything you start. If you aren’t stuck, you know someone who is.
Dreaming
These roadblocks to success affect us all, so don’t feel alone. If you spend most of your time perfecting your vision board, you are stuck in the dreaming phase. Vision is essential to success, and dreaming is necessary, but don’t get caught up in fear of moving forward and pursuing those dreams.
Don’t let your comfort zone become a prison. Change is necessary for growth. It’s like anything else… the more you practice it, the better you get.
Planning
Once you know where you’re going, it’s time to put on your thinking cap and figure out how to get there. Forming a strategy, building a roadmap, making a plan… the next step in growth. How are you going to take yourself and your business to the place you want to go?
If you don’t feel comfortable taking control, learn to accept that life will “happen” to you. That doesn’t sound so great, does it? Managing your goals and strategies will make you feel empowered, and you can use that empowerment as a tool.
Doing
Eventually, it’s go time! You’ve set the goal. You’ve charted the course. Don’t stall now! Did you know most people quit when they are right about to have a breakthrough? You don’t want to have a breakdown… have a breakthrough instead and go for it!
Now is the time to evaluate where you are and where you’re going! There’s still plenty of this year left. Dream. Plan. Do. Start today!
